ZA International Clarinet Extravaganza

We are excited to announce the next ZA International Clarinet Extravaganza. The first ICE hosted in 2016 was a tremendous success, and has grown into a major South African classical music event. The extravaganza has been hosted by the Odeion School of Music, University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, and will be extended to the the Western Cape (Hugo Lambrechts) in 2024. The objective of the festival is to expose South African clarinetists of all ages and levels as well as educators to current international clarinet trends, excellent artistry and the opportunity to receive masterclasses from top
clarinet pedagogues.

2024 International guests are:

- Severine Sierens (Belgium) – E- flat clarinet specialist
- Citlalli Rosas (Mexico) – Bass Clarinet specialist
- Vincenzo Casale (Italy) – Early Clarinet specialist
- Bence Szepesi (Hungary) Clarinet- sax doubling specialist
Bloemfontein: 31 January – 3 February
Cape Town: 5 – 6 February

Participants will receive various masterclasses, informative talks, take part in a festival Clarinet Choir, various concerts (solo and chamber music) and a gala concert in BFN (with the Free State Symphony) and in CPT at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre.
