Stellenbosch University National Ensemble Competition
Entries are now open for the 2023 Stellenbosch University National Ensemble Competition (SUNEC).
There are two categories:
- School Category (12-18 years)
- Open Category (19-27 years)
As well as cash prizes for awarded for the best and runner-up in each of these genres:
- African Music (max. 12 members)
- Jazz (max. 12 members)
- Large Classical Ensemble (5-12 members)
- Small Classical Ensemble (Duo, Trio or Quartet)
The competition takes the following format:
- Round 1: Online (video submission due 28 July 2023)
- Final Round: 30 September, Endler Hall, Stellenbosch University.

The SU National Ensemble Competition is once again being hosted by the Stellenbosch University Music Department. Participation is open to community, school and university ensembles who compete in 2 categories: School category (age 12-18 years); Open category (age 19-27 years).

Closing date for entries: 10 July 2023.
Recordings for Round 1 to be submitted by: 28 July 2023 Competition dates: 4 August (Round 1 online). The final round takes place at Stellenbosch University Konservatorium on 30 September 2023.
